Further information on your plant

All plants are measured from the bottom of the nursery pot to the tip of the plant and if a height is specified, this is an approximate height, not set in stone. As all plants are living things, they will vary in size throughout the year, and we do our best to give a guide as to the size you can expect. If in doubt drop us an email hello@leafculture.co.uk. And lastly, minor flaws in leaves might be present and will not be covered for compensation. It's worth noting that plants naturally age like people and are rarely perfect.

Philodendron gloriosum is a striking tropical houseplant known for its large, heart-shaped leaves with pretty white veins. Native to Colombia, this creeping plant belongs to the Araceae family and is particularly admired for its velvety texture and lush green foliage (it's well worth feeling the leaves!). Its growth habit involves crawling along the ground or support (preferred option), making it a unique choice for indoor gardeners seeking to add a dramatic, natural element to their spaces.

Like most houseplants, Philodendron gloriosum prefers bright, indirect light and thrives in well-draining soil with high organic content. It is sensitive to overwatering, which can lead to root rot, so it requires a careful watering schedule, allowing the top layer of soil to dry out between waterings. We recommend using a moisture meter to know exactly when this is.

In terms of care, Philodendron gloriosum benefits from regular humidity, making it well-suited for environments that can provide consistent moisture, such as bathrooms or rooms with humidifiers. The plant prefers 18-29°C but is sensitive to cold drafts and sudden temperature changes so best to place away from any doors. Fertilise during the growing season to support its lush growth. And if you want those really BIG leaves you see on platforms like Instagram, try using a grow light for 12-14 hours per day.
