Further information on your plant

All plants are measured from the bottom of the nursery pot to the tip of the plant and if a height is specified, this is an approximate height, not set in stone. As all plants are living things, they will vary in size throughout the year, and we do our best to give a guide as to the size you can expect. If in doubt drop us an email hello@leafculture.co.uk. And lastly, minor flaws in leaves might be present and will not be covered for compensation. It's worth noting that plants naturally age like people and are rarely perfect.

Microsorum musifolium 'Crocodyllus', commonly known as the Crocodile Fern 🐊, is a tropical houseplant known for its unique, leathery leaves that resemble crocodile skin. This fern features bright green fronds with a distinctive pattern of dark green veins, adding an exotic touch to any indoor space. Native to Southeast Asia and Australia where it grows on trees as an Epiphyte, the Crocodile Fern is relatively compact, typically growing up to 2-3 feet in height and spread, making it a great choice for your home.

Caring for a Crocodile Fern is straightforward with the right conditions. It thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light levels, though its growth may slow. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and only water when the top 3cm of soil feels dry. High humidity is essential for this plant, so regular misting or using a humidity tray can help. It prefers warm temperatures between 16-24°C and ensure you feed the plant especially during the warmer sections of the year.

An added bonus is that the Crocodile Fern is non-toxic to pets, making it a safe choice for households with cats and dogs. Besides its decorative appeal, it also helps purify indoor air making it great for bedrrooms. Regularly wiping the leaves with a damp cloth will keep them looking vibrant. With proper care, this unique fern can be a beautiful and low-maintenance addition to your indoor plant collection.
