All plants are measured from the bottom of the nursery pot to the tip of the plant and if a height is specified, this is an approximate height, not set in stone. As all plants are living things, they will vary in size throughout the year, and we do our best to give a guide as to the size you can expect. If in doubt drop us an email hello@leafculture.co.uk. And lastly, minor flaws in leaves might be present and will not be covered for compensation. It's worth noting that plants naturally age like people and are rarely perfect.
Philodendron "Ring of Fire" is a stunning hybrid variety of Philodendron known for its vibrant foliage - it's a proper eye catcher. A cultivar of Philodendron tortum, which is native to South America. The "Ring of Fire" gets its name from the striking contrast between its dark green leaves and the bright orange or yellow edges that resemble flames, hence the "fire" reference.
Like nearly all Philodendrons, they like to climb and be supported so as your Philiodendron 'Ring of Fire' grows, use a pole to support it. In the wild you'd see them growing against trees for support. That said, you can also grow them as trailing plants if you prefer.
Temperatures are pretty standard - most houseplants like 18-25C and moisture wise - not too much nor too little. We recommend using a moisture meter to test the soil before hand so you're not guessing. The leaves can get quite large which is great, but they will need dusting off to ensure they're able to photosynthesize as quickly as possible. This doesn't take long - maybe a couple of minutes once every could of months. Alternatively, pop it in the shower for a hose down.
Overall, Philodendron 'Ring of Fire' is a beautiful and relatively low-maintenance houseplant, perfect for adding a pop of colour and tropical feel to your indoor space.
