📝 Description
Notocactus leninghausii, commonly known as the Golden Ball Cactus or Golden Barrel Cactus, is a striking, column-shaped cactus covered in dense golden-yellow spines. Native to southern Brazil, it naturally grows in clusters that can reach up to a metre tall over time. Its bright colouring and soft, bristly texture make it a favourite among collectors and anyone looking to add some warmth and structure to their plant display.
This cactus loves bright light and can handle full sun once acclimatised. It prefers well-draining soil and minimal watering—let it dry completely between waterings, especially in winter. In summer, mature plants may even reward you with small yellow flowers that appear near the top of the stem. Easy to care for and visually striking, the Golden Ball Cactus brings a cheerful, sunlit charm to any collection.
