All plants are measured from the bottom of the nursery pot to the tip of the plant and if a height is specified, this is an approximate height, not set in stone. Alocasia mycorrhizas, commonly known as Giant Taro or Elephant Ear, is a tropical plant native to Southeast Asia and Australia and makes a real statement in the world of houseplants. It boasts large, arrow-shaped leaves that can reach up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) in length so make sure you give this guy plenty of space to grow. In the wild, the leaves can be used as umbrellas!

It loves a warm humid environment, which you can probably understand getting that big, so try to accommodate its needs. Water when soil becomes dry but best to use a moisture meter to understand that exact point. Keep out of direct sunlight but do ensure it receives plenty of light. If you have a warm bright room - place it there.
