Further information on your plant
All plants are measured from the bottom of the nursery pot to the tip of the plant and if a height is specified, this is an approximate height, not set in stone. As all plants are living things, they will vary in size throughout the year, and we do our best to give a guide as to the size you can expect. If in doubt drop us an email hello@leafculture.co.uk. And lastly, minor flaws in leaves might be present and will not be covered for compensation. It's worth noting that plants naturally age like people and are rarely perfect.
Calathea's are very established in the market; this one is an absolute corker!
The uniqueness of Calathea Musaica is spot on. Its striking cross-hatch design on its leaves will surely grab attention - it almost looks quite futuristic. We've never seen anything like this before at Leaf Culture! Unlike many Calathea, this variety has smooth leaves - they're normally a bit more velvet like, but not this time. Not only that but the leaves are vibrant green with yellow hues so perfect for those of you who want something bright and uplifting.
As a low-maintenance house plant, it brings aesthetic appeal and stress-relieving benefits to any space.
All Calathea's are commonly known as Prayer Plants because they move their leaves depending on the amount of light they have and at night (some more than others) they curl their leaves up - hence the name.
Calathea Musaica is considered easy to grow and relatively undemanding and like nearly all house plants, they like bright indirect light. Avoid placing near a radiator (obvs) and sit back and appreciate the cross-hatch leaves - you won't have seen anything like it before!
Tip: Calathea like to be a bit more on the moist side - avoid it drying out. Use a fertiliser with every water and make sure your tap water is left overnight so the chlorine disappears before watering your plant. 🪴
