Further information on your plant

All plants are measured from the bottom of the nursery pot to the tip of the plant and if a height is specified, this is an approximate height, not set in stone. As all plants are living things, they will vary in size throughout the year, and we do our best to give a guide as to the size you can expect. If in doubt drop us an email hello@leafculture.co.uk. And lastly, minor flaws in leaves might be present and will not be covered for compensation. It's worth noting that plants naturally age like people and are rarely perfect.

The Calathea Roseopicta Rosy, also known as the Rose-Painted Calathea, is a striking tropical houseplant prised for its vibrant foliage. Its leaves showcase a stunning combination of soft pink centres surrounded by deep green borders, giving it a unique, almost painted appearance. Native to the rainforests of South America, it thrives in a warm, humid environment.

This plant belongs to the Marantaceae family, also known as prayer plants. Its leaves tend to fold upward at night in a fascinating display of nyctinasty. It can grow up to 20 inches tall with proper care, making it a perfect medium-sized plant for indoor spaces.

To keep a Calathea Rosy happy, provide bright, indirect light, as direct sunlight can scorch its delicate leaves. It prefers consistently moist, well-draining soil but doesn’t tolerate overwatering. Use lukewarm, filtered water to avoid mineral build-up that can cause leaf discolouration. High humidity is essential, so consider misting the plant regularly or using a humidifier. Keep it in temperatures between 18°C and 26°C and away from drafts or cold air. Fertilize monthly during the growing season and wipe its leaves occasionally to keep them dust-free and vibrant.

Finally, it's worth noting this plant is non-toxic, making it a safe choice for homes with pets or children 🐱🧒🏻
