Tradescantia zebrina, commonly known as the Wandering Jew or Zebrina plant, is a popular trailing houseplant appreciated for its striking foliage. It belongs to the Commelinaceae family and is native to Mexico, Central America, and Colombia. The name "zebrina" comes from the zebra-like pattern on its leaves, which are typically green with silver stripes on the upper side and purple on the underside.
Easy to care for - it doesn't need a great deal of water or attention and does well sat on a windowledge as long as it doesn't receive too much sun. It does very well in a hanging basket and the stems are too heavy for the plant to support as it gets bigger. Tradescantia Nanouk grows at a moderate pace, so just remember to keep up with the watering regime although don't water too often as this always causes root rot.
Tiip: to create a more bushy plant, simply trim regularly with a sharp pair of scissors.
