📝 Description
Calathea Beauty Star is a tropical plant from South America and like most Calathea is a head turner. It's part of the Prayer Plant family meaning at night it closes up and then unfolds again with sunrise.
With elongated leaves, there are occasional pink hues that run down the middle. This doesn’t apply to all leaves but it seems that most do seem to exhibit these stylish colours. The underneath of the Calathea Beauty Star is a purple colour and smooth to the touch. Overall the the leaves are slightly shiny with their waxy look - this helps them avoid too much evaporation (meaning they don’t lose water too quickly).
Calathea Beauty Star prefer bring indirect light in order to flourish and they like their soil more on the moist side so avoid it drying out. If you’re thinking about repotting it then we recommend using a soil specific for Calathea - in fact, we sell the exact one called Soil Ninja Premium Calathea and Maranta Blend.
