📝 Description
Codiaeum var. ‘Red Batik’, or Red Batik Croton, is a real showstopper thanks to its colourful, painted-looking leaves. The long, narrow foliage is streaked with bold reds, pinks, oranges, yellows, and greens—like a tropical fireworks display. It loves bright, indirect light to bring out its best colours, and it does well in warm, humid spots. Keep the soil lightly moist (but not soggy), and it’ll stay happy. A bit of misting now and then helps too, especially in drier homes.
Red Batik is great for adding a splash of colour indoors and works well in any space that needs a lift. It’s fairly easygoing once settled, but can be a bit dramatic if it gets too cold or dry—dropping a few leaves to show its displeasure. Just keep it cosy, water it regularly, and turn the pot every so often so it grows evenly. With a bit of care, it’ll reward you with non-stop colour and personality all year round.
