This listing is for a single Cereus cactus, which we'll hand-pick for you. The photo is a sample only — each plant is unique and full of character.
The Cereus cactus is a striking, columnar cactus native to the Americas, particularly found in arid regions of South America and the Caribbean. Known for its tall, ribbed stems that can grow several metres high, the Cereus is often referred to as a “night-blooming cactus” due to its large, fragrant white flowers that open after dark. These blooms attract nocturnal pollinators like moths and bats, and the plant can also produce edible fruits known as “Peruvian apples” or “pitaya,” which have a mildly sweet taste.
In cultivation, Cereus cacti are relatively low-maintenance and thrive with plenty of sunlight, well-draining soil, and minimal watering. They're popular as both outdoor landscape plants in warm climates and as indoor potted specimens elsewhere. Their architectural form adds a dramatic presence to any plant collection. While they can tolerate brief cold spells, they do best in temperatures above 10°C and benefit from a dry winter rest to mimic their natural cycle.
Max height is 20cm.
