Information on plant sizes

All plants are measured from the bottom of the nursery pot to the tip of the plant and if a height is specified, this is an approximate height, not set in stone. As all plants are living things, they will vary in size throughout the year, and we do our best to give a guide as to the size you can expect. If in doubt drop us an email hello@leafculture.co.uk.

Belonging to the rubber plant family, the Ficus 'Belize' stands out with its lush green-and-cream variegated leaves, graced by a warm sunset pink hue. Complementing this striking coloration are the deep red veins and stems that make this plant a vivid showstopper. It's definitely not a plant that fades into the background.

The rubber plant earned its name due to the white latex sap it produces, which was historically used in rubber production. Its leaves also boast a thick, rubbery texture. Originating from Asia, this plant can reach towering heights in its natural habitat, with trunks exceeding two meters in diameter. However, you won't stumble upon this pink variation in the wild as it's a specially cultivated gem designed to elevate your home's aesthetics.

As a houseplant, the Ficus 'Belize' thrives in well-lit locations, appreciates consistently moist soil, and benefits from regular misting to maintain a humid environment. It also enjoys a monthly dose of liquid fertilizer during the spring and summer.

Fun Fact: In its native habitat, the rubber tree relies on a specific wasp species for pollination, showcasing the intricate web of nature.
